Elder law services also involve assisting clients in qualifying for Medicaid, which may be necessary to reduce or eliminate the costs of long-term care. Medicaid law varies greatly from state to state, and is constantly changing. Trying to determine whether one qualifies can be a daunting task. We also represent families and elders in guardianship proceedings, which is necessary if one has lost mental capacity but has not left a valid power of attorney.
